"We Were Heroes", by Walter Dean Myers, was my next choice and I really liked it! While this book is fiction, there are things that are accurate about D-Day and the events following it during World War II. Reading this journal was a different way to learn about the horrific events that occurred in the battles during this important historical event. It's a short read and is very interesting.
