I recently finished "Somewhere There Is Still A Sun", by Michael Gruenbaum with Todd Hasak-Lowy. I have read several books about the Holocaust and am still amazed that people, the Nazis, could be so inhumane. I really enjoyed reading about how Michael Gruenbaum survived this terrible time in history. Check this book out in our library. You may find it on display with our other Holocaust books.

The 6th grade classes are reading about the Holocaust. There is a Holocaust section in the library with fiction and non-fiction books, if anyone is interested in reading more about this subject. Enjoy!
To learn more about the Civil Rights Movement and Martin Luther King, visit the library to check out our selection of books on this topic or read more about it through E-Books on Follett Shelf.
Great job to those of you who took the 2015 Book Challenge! Hope you were able to find some great books to read while striving to meet your reading goals. Last year, my goal was to read at least 24 books (2 books per month). It was the first time that I tried the challenge so I wanted to make sure I could meet it with my busy schedule. I read 27 books!
Now it's time to set your reading goals for 2016! I'm going to increase my reading goal to 34 books. Are you up for the challenge? Look at your schedule, determine what is realistic for you and set a goal. I'd love to see your goal and your progress on my blog! Happy Reading! |
